Real Madrid made the appointment of Zinedine Zidane official via a statement on their website on Monday afternoon, whilst also confirming the departure of Santiago Solari.

The Frenchman, who has signed a contract until June 30, 2022, will begin a new chapter at Real Madrid following memorable spells as a player and manager.

In their statement, Real Madrid thanked Solari for his “work, commitment and loyalty” and wished him the best for the future.
