Al Sadd continued their undefeated start to the QSL season with a narrow 1-0 win over a resilient Al Khor side on Friday evening. A second half strike from captain Xavi gave Al Sadd all three points.

Credit to Al Khor they weathered the wave after wave of Al Sadd attack, eventually finding their stride. On the twenty eighth minute Khor registered their first chance of note with Brazilian star Madson firing a long distance shot which was well saved by Saad Al Sheeb in the Wolves goal.

Sadd ramped up the pressure heading into the break, and on a rare foray forward Sadd defender Pedro produced a scintillating shot that flew over the cross bar.

Both sides headed off at half time honours even at 0-0, with Al Khor coach Jean Fernandez the happier of the two managers.

The Wolves immediately grew in confidence and could of doubled their lead minutes later had Bagdad Bounjah’s flying header from a Xavi corner hit the target.
