Reigning QNB Stars League champions Al Sadd announced that Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez was keenly following up on the players as they train at their homes in order to maintain their physical fitness during the current stoppage of tournaments, as part of the measures being taken by the State of Qatar to limit the spread of coronavirus (Covid 19).

The club’s official website said Xavi had entrusted the team’s physical trainer Evan Torres with the task of defining a physical programme for the players, in mornings and evenings, with an aim to prepare them well in the current period.

Torres communicates with the players on a daily basis as they practise individually at their homes.

Meanwhile, defender Tarek Salman is recuperating from a knee injury under the supervision of the first team’s medical staff. The player had sustained the injury during Al Sadd’s Qatar Clasico against Al Rayyan in Week 17 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League, which the latter won by a 1-0 margin.

Tarek is expected to be ready by next week and undergo the team training sessions.
