Wow, just wow.

This World Cup keeps on getting better and better and Wednesday might have been the most exciting day yet. Sweden's thrashing of Mexico and South Korea's upset of Germany, saw reigning champions Germany crash out and Mexico advance by the skin of its teeth.

The pair of late games weren't quite as dramatic in terms of deciding who would advance but were just as dramatic in terms of who would win the day in terms of our experts predictions. In one of the most dramatic endings yet, ESPN Mexico's Javier Trejo Garay took home home top honours, his victory being decided on a 93rd-minute Costa Rica penalty. Does this tournament have any more drama left? Find out on Friday as our experts make their picks for the final slate of group stage games.

And so we draw the final curtain on the group stage for 2018. And that means (gulp) we have a rest day on Friday. Say it isn't true!

Still, there are four more games to come on Thursday and we start in Group H as Senegal and Colombia go toe-to-toe for a place in the knockout rounds. Senegal need a point to go through, while Colombia will definitely advance if they win. ESPN Colombia's Damian Didonato and Ed Dove (Kwese, Africa) say Colombia will win 2-1, while three other pundits also go with Colombia, and three predict Senegal. And that, of course, means two, Mark Ogden and Mauricio Pedroza, select a draw.

At the same time, it's Japan -- who need a point to go through -- against already-eliminated Poland. Three experts say it will be a draw, and three go for Japan. So could it be heartbreak for the Asian nation? Perhaps, because four say it will be Robert Lewandowski and Poland who will come out on top.

Last but not least we come to Group G, starting with Belgium against England. If the game finishes as a draw then top spot will be decided by Fair Play or a drawing of lots. ESPN FC's Stewart Robson, former England international Paul Mariner along with Damian, Mauricio, Poncho Vera, and Marcelino Hernandez go for the draw. ESPN FC's Mark Ogden doesn't think it will come to that, and predicts a 2-1 Belgium win. Only Ed has an England victory marked down.

One game with nothing riding on it is Panama vs. Tunisia. Two pundits go for Panama, and four for the draw. And that means most back Tunisia, who get four predictions with Ed saying 2-0.

Check out how our pundits got on with their predictions for Wednesday's games and remember to join the pundits' league in Match Predictor.
