Al Rayyan coach Diego Aguirre spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Al Sailiya.

“All remaining matches in the league are difficult. Al Sailiya are a strong team having distinguished players and a good coach, and facing them will be very difficult.

“We know that the task is not easy, but we are ready to play a good match and achieve victory, which is what we seek.

“No doubt, Al Rayyan are now in a difficult position in their path to the title. However, we still have our chances, but we have to provide the best and achieve victories in every match. After the end of the league, we will see what will happen. But now, we must win the next match against Al Sailiya and then the last two games too.

“We are required to win every one of the last three matches. Everything is possible. We have nine points to collect, so we are required to present our very best to win those points. In football, everything can be achieved,” said Aguirre.

Al Rayyan player Hamed Ismail said, “The competition with Al Duhail for the league title is not an easy matter as they are a strong team with outstanding players in all departments. The draw with Al Arabi in the last round may have dented our chances, but the opportunity still exists.

“The Al Sailiya match can give Al Rayyan the opportunity to continue to compete for the league shield. We are also waiting for the result of the match between Al Sadd and Al Duhail in this round, which may have a bearing on our chances.”
