Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 8 match against Al Gharafa.

“My team’s goal is to maintain our good position (second) in the points table. Al Gharafa are a great team that has quality players and a great coach, but we are ready to achieve our goal on the field. We will do everything we can to get a win.

“We respect Al Gharafa a lot being a strong team and they can compete for the league title. We are aware of that. But we have confidence in the capabilities of our players and their physical energy on the field.

“We will give all what we have to achieve our desired result. As I always say, we will do everything available to us on the field for the best result, so we maintain our position in the league standings.

“We have some physical problems when it comes to the readiness of a few players, but overall the team will be ready for the match. I am confident in the capabilities of their replacements if we need them and that any of them will be able to represent the team and defend it in the best way on the field,” said Jovovic.

Al Ahli player Hazem Shehata said, “We, as a team, are ready to face Al Gharafa. We have trained hard in the last period. We will enter the match after getting to know Al Gharafa through some of their recent matches. The coach has prepared us well.”
