The 2020-21 season QNB Stars League’s Week 7 fixtures, held on 26th and 27th November, witnessed plenty of excitement with high-scoring matches and thrilling action. As many as 27 goals were scored across the six games.

The following were the results:

Al Wakrah bt Al Sailiya         3-1

Al Ahli drew Al Rayyan 1-1

Qatar SC bt Al Arabi    3-0

Al Gharafa bt Al Khor  6-3

Al Sadd bt Umm Salal  3-1

Al Duhail bt Al Kharaitiyat   4-1

Al Sadd stood on top of the table with 19 points following their victory. The Wolves increased their lead to three points with second-placed Al Ahli, who were held by Al Rayyan.

Akram Afif, Santi Cazorla (penalty) and substitute Hassan Al Haydous scored for Al Sadd, while Roosbeh Mohammed netted the only goal for Umm Salal, who remained the basement side with four points.

Al Sadd now have a goal difference of +21 (27 goals for and six against). That is precisely three times that of Al Gharafa (18 goals for and 11 against), who come second in terms of goal difference.

Reigning champions Al Duhail, who were beaten 3-0 by Al Gharafa in the previous round, got back to the winning path, riding on Almoez Ali’s double. Ramin Rezaein and Khaled Mohammed were the other scorers for The Red Knights, while Khaldoun Ismail pulled one back for Al Kharaitiyat.

Al Duhail thus moved from fifth to fourth spot with 12 points, whereas Al Kharaitiyat stood in ninth place with six points.

Al Gharafa retained their third position with 15 points even as Al Khor remained 11th with four points.

Koo Ja-Cheol, Homam Elamin (two goals), Ahmed Alaaeldin and substitute Ahmed Al Janehi (two goals) were Al Gharafa’s goal heroes. For Al Khor, Rafael Dos Santos, Naif Al Breiki and Leonardo De Souza found the target.

Qatar SC completed back-to-back victories, having beaten Al Wakrah 1-0 in the previous round.

Youcef Belaili scored two penalty goals and Alejandro Jimena another against Al Arabi for The Kings, who improved from eighth to seventh spot with nine points. Al Arabi stood 10th with five points.

Al Wakrah found their winning touch with their win over Al Sailiya.

Mohamed Benyettou, Omar Ali and Cristian Ceballos scored for Al Wakrah, while Abdulqadir Ilyas pulled one back for Al Sailiya, who slipped from sixth to eighth place with eight points.

Al Rayyan went out of the top-four bracket following their drawn encounter with Al Ahli. The Lions are now placed fifth with 11 points.

Franck Kom and Nabil El Zhar scored for Al Rayyan and Al Ahli respectively.

The QNB Stars League’s Week 8 matches will be played on 8th and 9th December, with three matches on each day. The fixtures are Al Duhail vs Al Sailiya, Al Wakrah vs Al Sadd, Al Arabi vs Al Rayyan, Umm Salal vs Al Kharaitiyat, Al Ahli vs Al Gharafa and Qatar SC vs Al Khor.
