Al Ahli will eye nothing less than a victory when they face Al Shahania in Week 19 of the QNB Stars League on Thursday, 14th March. The kick-off is at 18:05 at the Al Ahli Stadium.

Al Ahli are fifth in the standings with 29 points, one less than fourth-placed Al Rayyan. So they will be eager to collect full points in their bid to storm back into the top-four bracket, which they achieved after the 15th-round action.

The Brigadiers have nine victories to their credit, one more than Al Rayyan and the same as sixth-placed Al Arabi. They drew two matches and lost seven to have a goal difference of -3 (27 goals for and 30 against).

Al Ahli also have a point to prove as they had lost to reigning champions Al Duhail 0-6 in the last round. They had lost 0-1 to Al Sailiya in Week 17.

On the other hand, Al Shahania will be keen on extending their winning run, having scored an impressive 3-0 win over Al Rayyan in Week 18.

Al Shahania are placed eighth with 20 points (five victories, as many draws and eight defeats). Their goal difference is -12 (18 goals for and 30 against).

Spaniard Jose Murcia’s men are a gritty side that has produced some excellent results in the 2018-19 QNB Stars League after earning promotion from the Second Division. They are somewhat safe from the danger of relegation, but will be looking to bag as many points as possible to improve their position.

Al Ahli had defeated Al Shahania 2-1 in the first leg.
