QNB Stars League Week 12 — Umm Salal 0 Al Sailiya 2

Al Sailiya beat Umm Salal 2-0 in a tightly-fought contest in Week 12 of the QNB Stars League at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Friday.

Goals from Abdulqadir Ilyas in the 27th minute and Fahad Youssef in the 76th minute were enough to seal the three points for Al Sailiya.

Al Sailiya took their points tally to 22, while Umm Salal remained on 15.

The game started in extraordinary fashion for Al Sailiya as Rachid Tiberkanine was given a straight red card for a rash challenge early on. That did not hold his team up though as they managed to grab the game’s opener midway through the half.

Nadir Belhadj floated in a free-kick from deep, with Abdulqadir rising high above his marker to nod in at the back post.

Any chance of Umm Salal using their numerical advantage was over when Atef Mohammed also received his marching orders in the 39th minute.

The points were sealed late on when Fahad Yousef slotted home from close range.
