Laurent Banide of Umm Salal has been named as the QNB Stars League’s best coach for the month of September, 2018.

Under Banide, Al Duhail played four games during the month and won three of them.

The Orange Fortress completed a hat-trick of victories in Weeks 5, 6 and 7, against Al Gharafa (3-2), Al Kharaitiyat (2-1) and Al Khor (1-0), in that order. Their only defeat was against Al Arabi (1-5) in Week 4.

The nine points from those three wins helped Umm Salal to the seventh position in the standings with 13 points.

During the period, Umm Salal scored six goals while conceding three. They made an average number of 480 passes, of which 417 were successful. Short passes numbered 292 and forward passes 149.

There were 11.3 crosses (5.3 from the left and 6.0 from the right). They also made 18 tackles and seven dribbles.

Umm Salal made 54 final-third entries and 30 penalty-area entries. Shots for reached 13 and shots against 12. The total number of shots on target was six.

Banide is one of the outstanding coaches in the QNB Stars League. He took charge of Umm Salal at the beginning of the season.
