Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe will have his three-match Ligue 1 suspension reviewed next week after Nimes midfielder Teji Savanier appealed to the French Football Federation (FFF), a source close to PSG told ESPN FC.

Mbappe, 19, was shown the first red card of his career at the end of 4-2 win away at Nimes on Sept. 1 after shoving Savanier to the ground following a late tackle, and although he apologised to PSG's travelling fans, he insisted he would do it again.

Consequently, Mbappe was hit with a three-game ban by the disciplinary committee of the French Professional Football League (LFP), while Savanier was handed a four-match suspension -- stretched to five because of the existence of a one-game ban in suspended sentence.

According to the source, Savanier appealed to the FFF, which has gone above the LFP (which is reportedly revamping its disciplinary committee) and granted a re-examination next week, so both clubs expect a decision by Thursday.

Straight cards guarantee at least a one-match suspension in France, so Mbappe missed PSG's 4-0 home win over Saint-Etienne on Friday and Savanier will miss Nimes' trip to Bordeaux on Sunday.

Mbappe may well still miss PSG's trip to Rennes on Sept. 23 but could return at home against Reims three days later, but Savanier will still have to serve at least one more game than Mbappe because of his suspended sentence.
