Al Sadd will host Al Sailiya in Week 8 of the QNB Stars League in what will be a clash of two strong teams. The kick-off is at 19:50.

Al Sadd will eye nothing less than a victory as they are ahead of reigning champions Al Duhail only on goal difference as they both are on 16 points. The Wolves have a goal difference of +28 compared to the latter’s +13.

Al Sadd, who had lost the first leg of their AFC Champions League semifinal against Iran’s Persepolis 0-1 on 2nd October, and Al Duhail are the only unbeaten sides in the competition.

Al Sadd have five wins and one draw, while Al Sailiya have 15 points from five victories.

Al Sadd have scored 31 goals conceding just three, the least by any team, whereas Al Sailiya netted 13 times and received seven goals.

Al Sadd, coached by Portuguese Jesualdo Ferreira, boast of Spanish stars Xavi Hernandez and Gabi Fernandez, Algerian ace Baghdad Bounedjah, Akram Afif, Ali Asad, Boualem Khoukhi and South Korean midfielder Jung Woo-Young.

The Wolves’ Qatar international striker Hassan Al Haydous and goalkeeper Saad Al Dossari have returned from their injury lay-off.

Al Sailiya have Rachid Tiberkanine, Abdulqadir Ilyas, Nadir Belhadj and George Kwesi in their ranks.

Tiberkanine, who scored a brace during Al Sailiya’s 2-0 victory over Al Arabi, has six goals to his credit.

Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi, speaking at the pre-match Press conference, underlined the fact that it would be a keenly-fought contest.

“We will play the game at the same level as always. It will of course be a keen contest. In football, whoever control the game will win it. And those who fully utilise the chances that come their way will win regardless of statistics and figures,” said Trabelsi.
