The Qatar Derby between Al Sadd and Al Arabi will highlight the 2019-20 QNB Stars League’s Week 16 action, to be held on Thursday, 27th February, Friday, 28th February, and Saturday, 29th February.

The fixtures are Al Duhail vs Al Shahania (16:50, Al Duhail Stadium), Al Rayyan vs Al Ahli (16:50, Al Sadd Stadium), Al Sadd vs Al Arabi (19:30, Al Sadd Stadium) on Thursday, Al Sailiya vs Al Gharafa (16:50, Al Ahli Stadium), Al Wakrah vs Umm Salal (19:00, Al Wakrah Stadium) on Friday and Al Khor vs Qatar SC (16:50, Al Khor Stadium) on Saturday.

It may be noted that the QNB Stars League Week 15 saw some thrilling contests and interesting results. Four matches had ended in draws and two games produced results by narrow margins.

Only Al Duhail and Al Sailiya could post victories, against Al Wakrah (1-0) and Qatar SC (1-0) respectively.

The standings remained unchanged except for one position. Al Sailiya displaced Al Wakrah from the sixth position.

Three matches will be played on Thursday. Al Duhail, who increased their lead on top with 36 points, will face Al Shahania (12th with nine points).

The Al Sadd Stadium will witness two thrillers. Al Rayyan (second with 32 points) take on Al Ahli (eighth with 18 points) first, followed by the high-profile Qatar Derby between reigning champions Al Sadd (third with 31 points) and Al Arabi (fifth with 20 points).

Al Sailiya (sixth with 20 points) will lock horns with Al Gharafa (fourth with 25 points) in Friday’s first kick-off. It will be followed by the game between Al Wakrah (seventh with 19 points) and Umm Salal (11th with 10 points).

Al Khor (10th with 11 points) will host Qatar SC (ninth with 16 points) in Saturday’s only fixture.
