Al Rayyan replace Rodolfo with U-23 coach Souza

Al Rayyan parted ways with Argentinian Rodolfo Arruabarrena and handed over the reins to their Under-23 coach Yuri O de Souza.

The decision was taken by mutual consent as Rodolfo, who was appointed at the beginning of this season, failed to improve the team’s performance after eight games into this season’s QNB Stars League.

Al Rayyan had suffered a 0-5 defeat at the hands of Al Sadd in the Qatar Clasico in Week 6 and last week’s 0-1 loss to bottom side Al Khor made matters worse.

Al Rayyan are fourth in the standings with 14 points, after Al Duhail (19), Al Sadd (17) and Al Sailiya (16).

The club announced that Brazilian Souza would lead the team starting from the training session on Monday evening as they prepare for their QSL Cup second-round match against Al Sadd on Saturday, 13th October.

Al Rayyan are in Group B that also includes Al Ahli, Al Sailiya, Al Shahania and Al Khor.
