Doha: Al Shaqab Racing's homebred Al Naama yesterday stormed to win the Late Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammed Al Thani Trophy & Cup (Gr2) with French jockey Soufiane Saadi at Al Rayyan Racetrack.
The victory with the Alban de Mieulle-trained 6-year-old mare in the 2,000m race for 3YO+ P/As was the second for Saadi, who also clinched the National Day Cup with Injaaz Stud's Al Mustafiz (QA) (AF AlBahar). Saadi rode the Zuhair Mohsen-trained 7-year-old horse to a neck's win in the 7f Conditions for Local Purebred Arabians.

Earlier, Abdulhadi Mana Al Hajri's Dark Pursuit (GB) (Pastoral Pursuits) won a Class 2 TB Conditions. JP Guillambert rode the Stefano Ibido-trained 4-year-old gelding to a neck win in the 6f run. Rashid bin Mubarak Al Naimi's Al Mohalhal (IRE) (Acclamation) clinched the victory in the TB Handicap (75-95) on turf when Alberto Sanna rode the Majed Seifeddine-trained 7-year-old gelding to a ¾-length win in the mile run.
Al Wasmiyah Farm's Think Big (IRE) (Night Of Thunder) won a Thoroughbred Plate on turf with Tomas Lukasek in the saddle. The German jockey rode the Georges Mikhalides-trained 3-year-old colt to a ¾-length win in the 7f run for 3-year-olds.
Minister of Culture and Sports, H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, crowned the winners yesterday.
