Umm Salal ended their contract with Nigerian striker Christian Osaguona, who had joined them ahead of the start of 2018-19 season.

Osaguona played for Umm Salal briefly, but was mostly nursing an injury. So the club decided to end the association with him by mutual consent. His replacement is to be announced soon.
Meanwhile, Umm Salal players, under the keen eyes of French coach Laurent Banide, are continuing preparations for their QNB Stars League Week 5 away game against Al Gharafa on 15th September.

Umm Salal would be keen to make a turnaround in their fortunes as they had crashed to a 1-5 defeat against Al Arabi in Week 4. The Orange Fortress are seventh in the standings with four points.
