QFA fines players and officials for breaching safety protocols

The Disciplinary Committee of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), in a meeting headed by Chairman Hassan Al Hammadi, yesterday announced a series of fines imposed on players and officials due to non-compliance of MOPH’s safety protocols. Al Arabi's Muhammad Issa Al Muhammadi, Mohamed Essam El Din and Marc Muniesa were warned and fined QR 10,000 easch due to noncompliance with the MOPH’s safety protocols including breaching home quarantine pledge signed by them.

Al Sadd's coach Xavi Hernandez and two of his players, Hammam Al Amin and Abdelkarim Hassan also received warnings and fines of QR 10,000 each due to the same reason. Diego Pereira, a member of the Qatar SC technical staff, and midfielder Ahmed Moeen also were fined and warned.

Umm Salal SC's Mahmoud Al Mawas, Ismail Mahmoud Mardanli, Al Wakrah's Omar Afifi Abdul Majeed, Al Rayyan's Mohamed Alaa, Al Khor's Ahmed Salem Al Askar, Al Gharafa's Koo Ja-cheol and Al Duhail's Ahmed Sufyan were also among the players who were warned for breaching home quarantine pledge signed by them. All of them were fined for their misconducts.

In addition, the committee also decided to suspend Al Arabi player Fahd Shanin for three matches on disciplinary grounds and impose a QR 20,000 fine for showing lack of sportsman spirit during his team's match against Al Rayyan. His team-mate Musab Khadr was fined QR5,000 for showing lack of sportsman spirit during the same match.
