The Wolves opened the scoring in the 62nd minute through Hamed Ismail’s free-kick, only for Qatar SC to equalise via Kayke Moreno’s penalty in the 79th minute. Al-Sadd had Khaled Al Yazidi sent off in the 78th minute.

Normal time thus ended in a 1-1 stalemate, with the match moving straightaway to a penalty shootout.
