Brighton defender Lewis Dunk is adamant the main focus for the Seagulls is still on avoiding the drop despite their efforts in the FA Cup.

The south coast outfit face reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the last four of the cup next month.

Before that, Brighton have two league games first as they entertain Southampton on Saturday and then travel to Chelsea.

Dunk says they will not be distracted from the task in hand to avoid the drop as they continue to battle against the drop.

"The main priority is staying in the Premier League," he told the club website. "We've got a great opportunity going to Wembley in the semi-final of the FA Cup, but that really doesn't matter at the moment.

"When that match comes around of course we'll focus on that, but we've got two Premier League games up next.

"Once the boys get back from international duty we'll make sure we're working hard and preparing in the right way. Any game coming up is the biggest game of the season because we need to win.

"Southampton are a team around us at the moment and if we beat them at the weekend it would be a massive step away from where we don't want to be."

Brighton are 7/5 to win, 11/5 to draw and 2/1 to lose to Southampton.
