Al-Sadd drew 1-1 with Umm Salal in a friendly game that was played today at the secondary pitch of the club, in preparation for the upcoming resumption of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League season.

The team had earlier started its preparations in mid-June, after the break forced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Al-Sadd will now face Al-Shamal in their second friendly match on Saturday, July 18th.

In Friday’s game against Umm Salal, Al-Sadd started with Saad Al-Dosari in goal, and Khoukhi Boualem, Tarek Salman, Pedro Miguel and Yasser Abu Bakr in the defence. Jung Woo-young, Abdul Aziz Al-Ansari and Nam Tae-hee played in midfield, behind the attacking trio of Akram Afif, Hashem Ali and Baghdad Bounedjah.

Meshaal Barsham, Hussam Kamal, Abdullah Ismail, Talal Behzad, Ayoub Mashhour, Mustafa Tariq, Rami Suhail and Saoud Al-Nasr came on as substitutes during the 80-minute game, which was divided into 4 periods of 20 minutes each.

Baghdad opened the scoring for Al-Sadd in the 40th minute, before Nasser Al-Nasr equalised for Umm Salal in the 68th minute.
